With the general emphasis on rental homes on Martha’s Vineyard, here’s a look at 20 great Martha’s Vineyard AirBnB options. Although AirBnB Martha’s Vineyard covers the entire island, many of the listings are for Edgartown and Oak Bluffs. AirBnb Edgartown and AirBnB Oak Bluffs appeal to many summer tourists for their convenience to town amenities like restaurants and shopping. On the other hand, AirBnB Chilmark and AirBnB West Tisbury offers more solitude and privacy for those who wish to escape into nature.

Tips for AirBnB Martha’s Vineyard
There are hardly ANY bargains on Martha’s Vineyard except the Youth Hostel and the Martha’s Vineyard Campground during the height of the summer season that runs from mid July to mid August.
The island population swells to about 200,000 people during these peak weeks and lots of events and activities are scheduled. Prices on Martha’s Vineyard house rentals also increase during these prime weeks. There’s hardly any availability left on the island for any type of housing.
If you schedule your holiday for earlier in July or later in August, you will have more and better options. September is an amazing time to be on Martha’s Vineyard. The school kids have left and the weather is great. The thousands of people that descend for the Fishing Derby means most of the restaurants and shops are open.
If you are coming in the summer, you will probably not spend much time indoors or at your Martha’s Vineyard house rental. There’s too much to do, the weather is too good. It doesn’t really matter if the weather is a bit dated because you will not be there anyway.
Since most people just sleep and shower in their Martha’s Vineyard house rentals, make sure you have enough bathrooms that you won’t drive each other crazy. With the need for septic tanks to drain and to protect the environment, Martha’s Vineyard restricts the number of bathrooms by location.
It’s nice to have an outdoor shower to get rid of the sand before it gets trooped through the house. An outdoor shower also takes the pressure off the number of bathrooms inside the house when everyone returns from the beach and is ready for a shower.
Renting a guest home or a dedicated suite is no big deal if you are not super concerned about privacy. You are hardly going to be at the house anyway.

Edgartown is a super popular location for AirBnB Martha’s Vineyard and with good reason. Edgartown has great shopping and restaurants.

Chilmark does have a reputation for the big estates with big money. We’ve chosen below a retro Martha’s Vineyard charmer which is a camp-style property that used to be the norm on the island. The other options are all entered around charming Menemsha Village, which you will recognise from many scenes in the 1975 blockbuster film, Jaws.
